I must admit after moving to the seacoast area of New Hampshire seven months ago, I am still amazed every time we go for a day trip on the weekends how beautiful and fun the coastal area of New England truly is!
This past Sunday Stephen and I left New Hampshire and took Route 1 following the seacoast through Maine, stopping along the way in Kennebunk to exploring the historic town and an old cemetery. It was a warm, sunny day, definitely a great day for a drive. We continued along until we made it to Biddeford, Maine where we took what seemed to be a "trucker route" that looped back south along the coast to Kennebunkport, Maine. I knew that I wanted to end that day in Kennebunkport since I heard such positive things about the small town and how beautiful it is. To our surprise it is Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport from December 3rd-13th. The streets were filled with people shopping and enjoying the holiday activities put on by the town, including horse-drawn carriage rides.
We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the small shops and enjoying the holiday decorations around Dock Square. To name a few of our favorites, Maine-ly Drizzle which sells quality olive oils and vinegars and Scalawags Pet Boutique which offers unique gifts and treats for your furry friends! However, we didn't leave without grabbing a bite to eat at Alisson's, a family owned restaurant that appeared to be a popular restaurant for locals and tourists alike.
